Michela Cerruti forced to retire in VLN round 9

The eight round of the German 2015 VLN championship ended up in a bitter way for Michela Cerruti at the Nurburgring. Lining-up once again with Walkenhorst Motorsport despite the cold weather conditions, Michela was partnered on-track by Felipe Laser and by a new team-mate, Swedish BMW Junior racer Victor Bouveng. After rounding out a positive qualifying session in sixth place overall, the BMW-powered trio was fighting for the podium in the 4-hour race. Unfortunately though, an off-track exit that occurred to Bouveng forced the #36 BMW Z4 GT3 car to stop for good. Michela and her team-mates are already looking forward to the next round, scheduled for the 31st of October. Their goal is to reclaim the lead of the Speed Trophy standings which include all the series’ frontrunners.

“Qualifying had gone quite well despite the cold and foggy weather conditions. Unfortunately, a late crash forced us to retire from the race but luckily Victor was uninjured. We are already focusing on the next round of the series scheduled for the end of the months. Despite today’s DNF demoted us from the points lead in the Speed Trophy, we are still really close and we are determined to keep fighting”.
